What is an on-campus Biometric Health Screening?
Complimentary Biometric Health Screenings can be scheduled by benefits-eligible faculty/staff and enrolled spouses/same-sex domestic partners to meet with a nurse to obtain health values. These consist of blood pressure, height, weight, and the body mass index (BMI) score that is calculated from your height and weight. They may also include other values to measure heart health and blood sugar levels, such as cholesterol glucose or A1C.
Where and when are Biometric Health Screenings offered?
Biometric Health Screenings are offered at convenient locations on Ohio State main and regional campuses on various days and times. To view a list of available locations, days, and times, visit the Welcome page and click Schedule a Biometric Health Screening.
Will my biometric health values received at an on-campus Biometric Health Screening be loaded into my Personal Health & Well-Being Assessment (PHA)?
Yes, your biometric health values will be loaded into your PHA. You can also view your results in your Link To Health account by clicking the Biometirc Health Data tab after logging in.
Why are the biometric health values I received from my on-campus biometric health screening different than the fields included in the Personal Health & Well-Being Assessment (PHA)?
When you complete the PHA, you may not have a health value to enter in every field. If you receive your biometric health values from your Primary Care Provider (PCP), you may receive blood sugar, triglycerides, and LDL instead of the HgA1c and non-HDL values that you will receive at an on-campus screening. The health values you receive at the on-campus screening are enough to complete the PHA. The required health values needed to complete the PHA include height, weight, and blood pressure.
Will I need to fast before the Biometric Health Screening?
You are not required to fast prior to your Biometric Health Screening.
Is the Biometric Health Screening complimentary?
The Biometric Health Screening is complimentary for benefits-eligible faculty/staff and enrolled spouses/same-sex domestic partners.
How do I schedule an on-campus Biometric Health Screening?
To schedule a screening appointment, visit the Welcome page and click Schedule a Biometric Health Screening.
Where can I retrieve my health values that were entered in my Personal Health & Well-Being Assessment (PHA) in 2012?
If you had an on-campus biometric health screening in 2012, you can retrieve your health values from LinkToHealth (online system for scheduling on-campus screenings). To access LinkToHealth, visit the Welcome page and click Schedule a Biometric Health Screening. Once you enter LinkToHealth, click the Biometric Health Data tab for your health values.
You can also ask your Primary Care Provider (PCP) for your health values if you received them during your 2012 physical exam.
