Qigong-Badjuanjin-8-Brocade
April 11 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Monday, repeating until May 9, 2022
In person class led by Michael Brennan.
Qigong (pronounced che-gung) means “energy work” – releasing stagnant chi (life energy) so that energy flows more freely through the body-mind system. Baduanjin Standing 8-Brocade Qigong uses posture, easy movements, breath, self-massage, sound, and focused intent to enhance body-mind awareness & health. Students experience 8 movements (one added weekly in each 1-hr class) along with traditional concepts to warm-up & integrate the body + mind with breath.
Research (See NIH site: Tai Chi and Qi Gong: In Depth) has shown that Qigong practice may reduce pain, improve immune function, & general wellness. Past students learning and practicing Qigong at OSU have noticed ‘less back pain,’ ‘regaining flexibility,’ ‘feeling more relaxed, flexible, and energized.’ and ‘these simple yet profound movements are transforming and healing.’
