The Thrifty Food Plan – Are Healthy Foods “Too Expensive”?

Healthy doesn’t have to mean expensive. Do you find yourself wanting to eat healthy, but concerned about your families grocery budget? Join Carol Smathers, MS, MPH for a 30 minute webinar to explore ways to feed nutritious foods to your kids on a limited budget. Learn about the USDA’s report on affording healthy foods at various budget levels.

Carol Smathers, MS, MPH, is an Associate Professor at Ohio State University and serves as a state-level Extension Field Specialist in Youth Nutrition and Wellness. Her research and teaching focus on community-level health promotion and obesity prevention interventions. Since 2018 her household grocery budget has been $1.50 per meal per person.
