What is an on-campus Biometric Health Screening?
Complimentary Biometric Health Screenings can be scheduled by benefits-eligible faculty/staff and enrolled spouses/same-sex domestic partners to meet with a nurse to obtain health values. These consist of blood pressure, height, weight, and the body mass index (BMI) score that is calculated from your height and weight. They may also include other values to measure heart health and blood sugar levels, such as cholesterol glucose or A1C.

How recent do my health values need to be to complete the Personal Health & Well-Being Assessment (PHA)?
Health values received during the current calendar year can be used to complete the PHA.
Will my biometric health values be loaded into my Personal Health & Well-Being Assessment (PHA)?
Your biometric health values will be loaded into your PHA if you complete an on-campus screening or visit a care provider at OSU Physicians, Central Ohio Primary Care or a provider who utilizes LabCorp.
What other data besides the health values will load into my Personal Health & Well-Being Assessment (PHA)?
Only the values listed in the chart below will be loaded into your PHA.
How soon after my screening will my data load into my Personal Health & Well-Being Assessment (PHA)?
Depending on where you obtain your screening, it could take between one week and one month. If you complete an on-campus screeing or visit a care provider at OSU Physicians, Central Ohio Primary Care or a provider who utilizes LabCorp you will benefit from having your values automatically populated to the PHA.
Why are the biometric health values I received from my on-campus biometric health screening different than the fields included in the Personal Health & Well-Being Assessment (PHA)?
When you complete the PHA, you may not have a health value to enter in every field. If you receive your biometric health values from your Primary Care Provider (PCP), you may receive blood sugar, triglycerides, and LDL instead of the HgA1c and non-HDL values that you will receive at an on-campus screening. The health values you receive at the on-campus screening are enough to complete the PHA. The required health values needed to complete the PHA include height, weight, and blood pressure.
How can I view my health values received from an on-campus Biometric Health Screening?

Will I need to fast before my on-campus Biometric Health Screening?
You are not required to fast prior to your on-campus Biometric Health Screening.
