Relaxation Tools
The body’s natural relaxation response is a powerful antidote to stress. Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, visualization, progressive muscle relaxation, meditation, and yoga can help you activate this relaxation response. When practiced regularly, these activities lead to a reduction in your everyday stress levels. What’s more, they also serve a protective quality by teaching you how to stay calm when life throws you a curveball.

Stress Management And Resiliency Training (SMART) Lab
The SMART Lab began as a resource for students through a partnership between the Student Wellness Office of Student Life and the Counselor Education program in Department of Educational Studies in the College of Education and Human Ecology. Since 2017, the OSU Health Plan, through the YP4H health coaching program, partners with the SMART Lab to expand these services to faculty and staff.
The SMART Lab offers self-guided biofeedback sessions. You will work through web-based modules to learn about mindfulness-based stress reduction and will utilize HeartMath biomedical feedback technology. Utilizing your heart rhythm as well as several breathing techniques, you will engage in practical exercises to increase your wellness, decrease your stress levels, and increase your overall resilience.
To register for a SMART Lab Sampler Session, visit LinktoHealth and search for “Educational Program” with the title “Give Biofeedback Technology a Try!”
