Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)

A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) is an employer-funded account from which you can be reimbursed tax-free for eligible health care expenses. Faculty and staff enrolled in an Ohio State medical plan are able to earn HRA credits after completing a variety of wellness activities as part of the YP4H incentive program. HRA credits can be used to pay for expenses such as copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance.

In 2024, enrolled participants will be able to earn up to $500 in HRA credits. Another $500 can be earned by your enrolled spouse. If you do not use all of your HRA credits in 2024, they will roll over to the following year as long as you are a covered employee under the plan at the time 2024 HRA balances are rolled over.
